Took some time to visit the Gilbert Riparian Reserve at Water Ranch. It's a beautiful series of 7 or 8 ponds on 70 acres and home to many species of native birds, fish, & other critters. Even at 8am it was hot enough that I only stayed an hour. Will have to go again when the morning temperatures are lower. The dragon flies are male Roseate Skimmers. I saw a couple more but they didn't land where I could get a shot. The ducks I haven't been able to determine the breed.
These are nice shots! Ducks are notoriously horny critters and hybridize with any other ducks on site! No telling what the mixture is there.
I've never heard of that reserve, the next time we winter in Arizona I will check it out!

The reserve is on Guadalupe Rd just east of Greenfield Rd next to the public library. I’m looking forward to visiting again when it’s a little cooler.
