Dad has this pretty amazing piece of time technology. His macular degeneration has him declared leagally blind. His hearing has gone south, but he has to remove one of his hearing aids to hear me on the phone. Oh yeah, back to dad's time piece. It verbalizes the time to him.... provided he ....

I will start the challenge with time pieces,……..

This is my great grandfather’s pocket watch, presented to him in 1873 by the good folk around the Black Lane area of Radcliffe, Lancashire (UK) after five and a half years service as a policeman. It very nearly went out of his direct family line after the death of my brother a couple of years ago but after much persuasion it is now in my care for a while. I shall ensure it passes to one of my grandchildren before I pop off. Alongside it in my brothers trinket draw was another pocket timepiece date 1813 about which I know nothing. I hope to get permission to research that one.
I will start the challenge with time pieces,…….. b... (show quote)

Nice watch and story, thanks for sharing magnetoman!!

This is an interesting challenge on time pieces. Jumping in on the late side and also late at night so adding a couple of posts rather quickly. My wife grew up with the following time piece since it was her grandmother's clock. Bob

Nice series Bob, like the looks, sure it has some history. Thanks for sharing!

Just 3 in my collection and our mantel clock. It does work (or did years ago) but the "gong" announcing hour and marking every 30 minutes got to be too much! We inherited it when we bought the house in 1971

Nice ones Pat, like that mantle clock. You got the house in 71 (WOW)!
