Thanks to all of you who offered suggestions. With so many curves in this case, every step of the way was a challenge - even the inside padding. Because of the shape, hinges won't work, so four hasps hold the lid on. I have to make the inside a bit neater, and I've ordered rubber feet. My next case will be a simple rectangular one.

Great work!!!!Jerry
Now how did you attain the shape?
Noisy people want to know.

I traced the uke and then I added a couple of inches. Then I modified it till it looked like a reasonable size. One mistake I made was making the top and bottom identical. With the curved sides, there is variation between the top and bottom.

In order to make the curved sides, I used "hobby wood" from Amazon. Twelve-inch squares 1.5mm thick. I cut short pieces and bent them with the grain. When they were all in place, I added another layer for strength. With the top and sides finished, I traced the shape for the new top.

Thanks. It's not perfect, but it was a learning experience.

If you put it in the washer it should shrink and be a perfect fit. 😂😂😂

There must be a real satisfaction in the completion of such a neat project. Great job.

Yes, and relief. Now I have to find another project to distract me. I think it will be a larger, rectangular uke case.
