What a great image. Those birds fly unbelievably fast. Tremendous capture.

Its a Wild bird and it is in Australia , i do not photograph captive wildlife at all .... they raised 3 young that year and 2 survived .. keeping Raptors with or with out a license is abhorrent to me ...but i really dont know what made you presume this bird was captive ... it is wild and still is

He was replying to my statement about skydivers and Peregrines. Apparently, in his world anyway, skydivers can't meet the legal requirements for possessing the birds.

I knew it was a wild bird simply because it was not wearing jesses! I made my comment because you seemed to indicate the Peregrine was a pet and raptors are never pets no mater how they were raised. I hasten to add that raptors suffer an 70-80% mortality rate during their first year of life so the practice of falconry, taking a first year wild bird and training it to hunt, significantly increases its survival odds.

And by the way, pardon me for not mentioning that it is a terrific shot!
