I can’t disconnect the hose from the input on my small power washer. I disconnected it from the washer thinking it might be easier to work with. The blue knob is attached to the washer and the hose threads into it. Any suggestions?

2 pair of pipe pliers? Make sure you can replace all the parts. Then dip it into a bucket of near boiling water and try again. Won't work? Try a bucket of ice water to try again. Probably time for replacement parts if nobody gives you a better idea?

I'd suggest wrapping both parts with several layers of Duck Tape and then try the channel locks. Use caution inthe amount of pressure put on them.

Spray a liberal amt of WD40, let set few mins, try again. This stuff is magic.

Chanel Locks in opposing orientation. Away from the body on the blue part, Towards the body on the brass. Not too tight, then squeeze the wrenches together.

WD-40 is a good place to start, along with the pliers suggested here. If that doesn't work pick up some penetrating oil, give it a good amount of time to penetrate, and try it again. Penetrating oil might surpass WD-40 in effectiveness.

Probably a reaction between metals. Good chance it won't disconnect. Good luck. Probably brass to aluminum. Bad combination.

Yep. I’ve been seeing garden hoses with aluminum couplings - WTF!

Yep. Had that problem with a hose reel. Ended up having to cut the hose coupling off and taking the hose to a place near here that repairs hoses. Had put a new factory brass coupling on and I replaced the hose reel with a new one with the brass connector.

Dissimilar metals.

Use PB Blaster.

Let sit for a bit.

Re-apply.

Let sit.

Tap, gently, with hammer.

Use opposing wrenches to untwist.

Time and tapping important.

Thanks to all for the suggestions. I’ll try ‘em all before the last resort of replacing the parts👍

Try 50:50 acetone and transmission fluid. This is a homemade penetrating oil.

Vinegar will solve your dilemma...

These knock off adapters are everywhere and cheap...and they work.
Except they are made from cruddy metals...and I can almost guarantee you have a mineral lock on those threads...

WD won't do anything to a mineral deposit...but vinegar will.

Soak it for a few days in a small jug of it...then try channel locks...GENTLY.

These adapters will warp out with any serious pressure applied...the metal is that soft.
