West Somerset Railway.
During a holiday in England in 2013 my wife and I visited the West Somerset Railway and enjoyed a 40 mile round trip through picturesque rolling hills and rural countryside in an authentic Great Western Railway passenger carriage hauled by a former Great Western Railway steam locomotive, Norton Manor.

The West Somerset Railway is run mostly by volunteers who restore, maintain and operate a large collection of former Great Western Railway locomotives and rolling stock.

Great photos of a well-preserved railway. Can passengers ride on it? If so, have you had the opportunity and then taken any photos? ---Richard

Thanks for your positive feedback prof. My wife and I enjoyed the 40 mile round trip in restored Great Western Railway carriages pulled by former Great Western Railway steam locomotive. Note attached some photos that I struggled to capture (inexperience, moving train and very dull day), of some of the varying scenery along the way.

Thanks for sharing your scenic shots from along the way. For me, they add wonderful "depth" to a excellent set of the locomotives at rest. --Richard
