No "Cookie Cutter" designs here! Photos from my Daytona Turkey Run archives. Can you recognize their starting points?

Wow all around. My guesses:

1. 1950 Plymouth
2. ? Oldsmobile
3. 1961 Chevrolet
4. 1951 Buick

Stan, If my memory serves me correctly, #1 started life as a 1953 Chevy, #2 was a 1954 Plymouth, #3 was a 1961 Chevy and I think you're probably correct that the last one started out as an early '50's Buick. Anyone have a better guess, I'm open to any and all suggestions.

You're probably right but #1 just doesn't have that "Chevy look" although I seem to remember something about those crossed flags. Nos. 1 and 2 were guesses but I was pretty sure of nos. 3 & 4. Thanks for setting me straight.

#1 is a Chevy. At least that’s what the grille says. It’s also got screens over the headlights like a 53-54 Corvette. The back windshield looks to be from ( or a replica of ) a 63 Split Window Corvette Coupe and the fuel filler door is DEFINITELY Corvette. The tail lights are from a 56-57 Corvette as well.

Number 2 looks like an early ‘50’s Mercury convertible to me. The hubcaps and tail light lenses look vaguely like early ‘50’s Merc parts as well.

I agree that #3 is a ‘61 Chevy, but with a boatload of mods! The headlights and grille look to be from a later Chevy “something” too. You can even make out the gold Bow Tie in the grille.
