A lovely candid. Does she like it, or is she now hiding from you?

Dana, wondering if you've given any thought to removing the chain link fence?

I started to but thought it was taking away from the realism of the photo.

Thanks. I'm sorry I forgot your interests and style. I've been hanging out in fantasy land for too long

Interesting expression... Was she upset you had a camera, or deep in thought?

She was not upset about the camera. She didn’t know I was shooting her. I had just taken her and her sister for their first horse ride, and I think she was reflecting on it. She loved it, and fell in love with horses that day.

That makes sense. My niece grew up in Southern Oregon, enthralled with horses and ponies, and competed in jump contests for many years. My sister lived vicariously through her. They lived on a small ranch outside Ashland with a barn and three ponies. I have memories of driving up their access road and seeing my brother-in-law pushing a wheelbarrow full of horse dung in the opposite direction...

If you love the smell of horse dung in the morning...

They actually had a blast while it lasted, but took a bath on the price of the ranch when they sold it in the middle of the real estate recession.

Better than pig poop. Sorry to hear about the sale.
