Yupper. Stacked many a bale years ago. Great pics.
Some square, some round, hard work all around! Nice set of photos.

My SIL isn't a farmer as such - he just has horses and enough acreage to support a one time haying every summer. A neighbor who is a farmer does all the actual hard work of cutting and baling and Paul and other family members chip in to collect and bring in the bales. This year's harvest yielded 10 round bales and over 200 regular ones, more than enough to keep the horses happy this winter.

Didn't see any apple trees. Everybody knows that horses just love to have an apple a day to go along with all that hay.
Great set.
Rural American at its finest. Hard working farmers and ranchers. Very nice series.

Don't know about that. Except for the kid trying to lift that bale that looks heavier than him everybody else is just standing around watching the machines doing the work. Of course, looks can be deceiving.
Before you decide to jump all over me, I know farming is hard work and the days before the tractors, hay balers, combines, etc. it was even harder - a lot harder.
BTW, has anybody watched the Amazon Prime series about Clarkson's Farm? It's about an English guy who decided to buy and run a farm when he was about 60.
Excellent set. Love to see the kids helping out. That's a lot better than sitting in front of a tv and gaming all day.

Exactly! All five of our grandkids love to help their dad whenever they can and are learning valuable lessons in practical skills and a solid work ethic. Baling day is a lot of work but also an enjoyable time spent with extended family with the satisfaction of a packed hay loft in the barn and several big pizzas at the end of the day. Good memories all around!

Now that's the way to raise kids. Grandparents can impart a lot a valuable wisdom & gives the kids the satisfaction of a job well done. Kudos.
