Sharp shot, but the horizon is off.

Thanks Mike, the horizon is definitely a challenge. I used vertical lines in the center for straightening and the ocean horizon on the right might slope to the right since the panorama was pretty wide. Any tips for improving it would be appreciated.

You can adjust horizons in Photoshop. Many times a panorama is so large that the horizon becomes curved.

I agree about the distortion challenge. I like Photoshop’s ruler feature to select a line to straighten by and use similar features in other programs. Finding the right line was tough on this one and I was surprised the pier slopes so much.

You do not have to see the actual horizon to know that this is slowly sliding into the ocean. I suggest shooting vertically instead so you have more control as to where you crop. Not enough sky or foreground for my taste.

I may give it another try from the raws. Thankfully I shot vertically to allow plenty of room for crop space.

I am glad that gave you something to think about. I have been there and you might want to give it a more authentic horizon based upon the pier's actual slope. Please post the revision.

Oh well live and learn. This time I saw the horizon of the ocean under the pier. Moving on to new images đź‘Ť
