Funny, the other day I was looking at my flowering plant (I planted this several years ago) and could not remember the name of it. I think this is the same one. What is the common name?

I do too. I noticed mine had one little bloom on it yesterday, but it's not really time for it to bloom. It's several months off schedule :-)

I was surprised as well. I'd noticed out the kitchen window that it was coming into bloom, very early, but didn't decide to take a shot until it rained and went out for the rose shoot. Isn't it interesting how a close up of the blossom is so different than looking at the plant in mass.

I guess that has to be the difference in climates. Mine is in full bloom only in the spring. Does your have purple leaves?

Yes, the leaves are purple and like you, this is a very unusual time of yer for my plants to be in bloom. We've had interesting weather, going back and forth from hot to cool, so that could be the reason.

That's probably what's going on here as well. Yes, I do see the purple in the leaves.

Yes, some of the leaves are purple. They are also a little 'tacky'. The stick to my puppies' fur and i find them all over the house :)
