Transitioning from Canon FF to Fuji GFX - 100s or 50s MkII

Has anyone made the transition from FF to Fuji Medium format? Considering either the 100s or 50s MkII. The 50s has larger pixels. Which would be better for my Milky Way photos? The 50s with the larger pixels? For general landscape I think the 100s would be superior.
Any thoughts or suggestions on that?
And for you that will ask about GAS - I have an old Canon 6D that is showing its age and is starting to have pixels die. It's time to upgrade as I get more into portraits.

How badly do you need 100MP?

Probably don't - but I'm asking if the 100 would be better than the 50 for MW. Also, the 100 is a next generation beyond the older 50s in terms of sensor and other software. It is much faster for auto focus and has better eye detection.
I would think that 102 MP is better for landscape and portrait. Certainly for architecture if I get into that.

It sounds like you've talked yourself into it .

no. I'm asking anyone who has made the transition about their experience and which camera/sensor would be better for MW? I actually think the 50 would be better and I'm leaning that way.

Jay,
I moved to 50MP a few months ago. It's not that much more than my D850 offered but there is a noticeable change in the amount of time for some processing steps. Additionally, file transfers take a bit longer as well. I'm OK with both of these, as I don't feel there is a speed competition during processing.

Thanks - I've seen that. Does not address my base concern.

I was wondering too, so I rented a GFX50 and an adapter for my Mamiya lenses. As it turned out. My Sony a7Riv had better resolution than the GFX 50 did. So I sold all my Mamiya equipment, returned the GFX and purchased the a7Riv that I rented. If you have the $$$$$ go for the GFX100 and Fuji lenses. Just my 2 cents

Which of the 2 Fuji's do you think would be better at MW capture? I would think the 50 with the larger pixel size.

the larger the pixels the more light gathered. therefore the less pixel dense 50 would be better than the 100 for milky way photos. May not be as good as your canon 6d which is one of the best cameras ever for astro photography

According to some of the articles that the above link leads to, the fact that the 100MP sensor is more recent puts both sensors on a similar footing when it comes to high ISO and low light performance.
