Our travels in Iceland were truly wondrous. Other than Antarctica, which is similar yet very different, I’ve had never before seen a land that made me think of how our primordial world could have looked when it became cooler. I also hadn’t had to deal with the cold like that since I lived in S Dakota. The cool-cold-icy winds and soaking rain seemed to be the norm while we visited this June. There were some sunny days, but you still had the cold wind to contend with. It was summer there so it reinforces the idea that I wouldn’t want to see what winters are like. I guess we’re just Southern California weather weenies when it comes down to it. Regardless, we still enjoyed ourselves thoroughly and found ways to manage the weather just fine. Our trouble came in the form of tourists from another place that we came in contact with and Covid reared its ugly head on our group at the end of the tour. We tested positive the second day we were home and have been isolating and taking the Paxlovid drugs. My lady and I are feeling much better now and hope to be over it quickly. Being vaxed and boosted made a big difference.
I was able to find many scenes that interested me and have a few to share.

We had been there over a week with another guide who was a geologist. I was shown many cool places to photograph for landscape shots but the broken fishing boat was our 2nd tour guides answer to something unique to see. He has a good eye himself when it comes down to it. After seeing my raw image on the camera he began steering me towards many other treats that he knows of.
Great shots!.!
We were there the beginning of December of 2019. WONDERFUL, amazing place!
I don't think the temperatures got below 25°F overnight, with highs around 35°, but the winds were something else!!! The day we visited Dyrhólaey (Reynisfjara), the winds were knocking people over, 40-50+MPH. The ≈four/five hours of daylight was very interesting. If you do go in the winter, LAYERS, water/wind resistant pants and coat, and good warm boots. NO JEANS! We did take ice cleats and used them once. Being from Southeastern Pennsylvania, we are used to the winter temperatures they have there.
We'd like to go back in the Summer to see some green...

Great images, Pete! You have really captured the essence of this beautiful land.
I agree with the others about the 4th one. Superb composition, colors and lighting makes this one a stand out.

Thanks Longshadow. Layers…. Always layers…. Think it’s going to rain…. Of course…. Will it stop? Of course…… sometime. Will it be windy? When won’t it?

Thanks for the thumbs Iron Sight
WOW! Those first two landscapes remind me of New Mexico’s state slogan “The Land of Enchantment”. Feels magical. Please post more. The church in basaltic black is striking too.
