Maine Lobster from Arizona

Many years ago, my family bought a lobster for a family gathering (in Maine). Larger than most turkeys, it was more than enough to feed everyone. We saved the claws. My grandfather lived in MA part of the year but had to retreat to Phoenix AZ (Sun City)when humidity started to become a health risk. While in AZ, he told some friends of his about the lobster claws my brother and I had saved. My grandfathers friends were Native American and had not seen anything like that before. They asked my grandfather to bring the claws with him next time and he did. My brother and I were very surprised to find that my grandfathers friends had painted our claws in thanks for letting my grandfather bring them to AZ for them to see. Many years have passed and I still have my claw. Hope you like it. I am still very excited about it.

WOW!!! That is huge....in '98 I was scuba diving off the island of Maui with my dive master when we spotted a huge lobster in a cave. The dive master said it was the biggest lobster he had seen in his 18 years of diving that part of the world....he estimated it to weigh between 12 qnd 15 pounds...by the size of that claw, I would say yours is much larger

If I remember right, it was 18 pounds; so not that much bigger. It was delicious. I was afraid it would be tough but it wasn't at all. I have not been around the lobster boats in years now. I miss it so much.

Lobster boats haven't changed, no worries there. Have a client whose wife paints them also, Christmas themes, Santa Claws (lol) etc. Dropped off a couple for us a few weeks back, along with a photo of his entire tree covered with the things. One or two is okay, but the whole tree? Not so much.
