I took a photo which has a lot of straight lines. But I neglected to pay enough attention to leveling the image. So the lines have a "stair-step" appearance which I think is Do I have any choice other than to acquire yet another photo editor?
About 2 years ago, another OP posted a picture of his black cat with white whiskers that showed stair stepping. I didn't save his image, but I did save the screen shots I made of his image.
The first image is a tight crop of the original. It is easy to see the stair stepping. And since they are curved, you can see the change as the slope changes. Since the whiskers are so narrow, the effect is more pronounced.
The 2nd image shows it after a 2x resize. The extra pixels have completely removed the problem.

If it's not a permanent feature of the final image it could be a result of zooming in too close. Any edge will look pixelated if you zoom in close enough. The OP hasn't provided enough information for us to know exactly what the problem is. Plus adjusting tilt will make some edges smoother and some even more jagged.
