Years ago I made an appointment to get a vasectomy but chickened out. That resulted in me being blessed with an adorable precious daughter at the age of 51 which gives me a purpose in life to always be there for her whenever she needs me. She was a blessing and I'm sure all of you fathers and mothers feel the same way about your children.

Sure do children are a blessing

Reversible, yes, but with a success rate just under 90% area according to my Doctor Daughter. She also tells me that, while insurance normally covers vasectomies, it doesn't cover reversal, and she added that the reversal surgery is quite a bit more expensive.

That sheds a completely different light on it.

Tell that to Justice Thomas who wants to outlaw contraceptives.

There could be evidence for your statement, but it does not exist in the opinions concerning the recent case. In his greatly misrepresented opinion, Thomas suggests the GROUNDS on which Roe, Griswold, etc were decided COULD be (problematic from a Constitutional standpoint, and therefore) a potential subject for review. As with Roe, these, IF reconsidered as a Constitutional right, would still not be made immediately illegal everywhere. To my knowledge, Thomas has not expressed hostilities about contraception, but rather, has expressed concerns with the murky, nebulous, undefined concepts invented in Griswold and Roe. The slope to tyranny is dispensing with definitions and inventing justifications. See Germany, circa 1933.

I know it’s a hard sell when all forms of media pump misrepresentations, straw man arguments, and abject lies, but the vast majority of the folks with whom I converse believe two things at the same time.

1. Responsible family planning via contraception is moral, and recommended, but a******n as retroactive birth control is evil. 2. The greater the breadth of ‘federal’ restrictions and mandate, the less the v**er has the ability to elect representation capable of affecting change. Concurrent with a tendency towards federal solutions is a probability of governmental excess, abuse, tyranny.

Even those who disagree with me on the first statement tend to have the same fears expressed in the second. Either that or 80 percent of the Democrat party and v**ers were intentionally lying when they railed against perceived tyranny in the Trump administration.

I get it, but what about in their latter years when they regret not having children.
It’s a big decision.

Also surgically reversible. Success rate for reversal unknown.

Vasectomies are reversible. I totally applaud their decision. I'm sure it won't be long before some Christian Minister comes out and condemns the practice or some Republican nut-job tries to pass a law prohibiting it.

Oh, the “godly” would condemn the idea. According to them the whole idea behind sexual intercourse is it is ONLY for “propagation” — not enjoyment.

The other side of this might be that more men would like to be able to have sex without potentially being responsible for any offspring . . . .

At least the priests don't need to worry about a******n or contraception. They only like little boys.

In all seriousness sexual intercourse is part of bonding reinforcing of the covenant between husband and wife.
