I am waiting for my M2 from Apple and would like to know if anyone has used a 24" or 27" monitor and which do you suggest or recommend? I know Apple pushes their brand but I see so many monitors that look like they can work. I do photography and Photo Shop/Lightroom post.
Thanks

LG 27UP850-W 27” UHD (3840 x 2160) IPS Monitor
https://www.amazon.com/s?k=LG+27UP850-W+27”+UHD+%283840+x+2160%29+IPS+MonitorI've been using this since last August with my M1 MacBook Air. The benefit of it is USB-C connectivity, and the fact it CHARGES the MacBook Air from the monitor power supply, effectively freeing up one of your ports. It also has a (slow) two-port USB 3.0 hub on the back. I use that for my Time Machine backup drive and my (old) wired Apple Extended Keyboard. I use a Datacolor SpyderX with SpyderXElite software to calibrate and profile both my MacBook Air monitor and the LG monitor so they match each other very closely and match my prints very closely.
If you need a portable dock:
https://www.charjenpro.com/products/ultimatedock — The Ultimate Dock II — which has:
HDMI 4K/60fps video
Gigabit Ethernet
Two USB 3.2 ports @ 10Gbps
Headphone jack
Power delivery input for laptop charging up to 100W
SD/Micro SD 4.0 UHS I/II readers
I take that with me on the road for presentations. I connected to projectors and monitors a couple of weekends ago at my 45th class reunion, where I played AV guy and presented a 44 minute slide show video I produced from classmates' historical photos.
If you need a tiny, portable, 2TB SSD:

I use a (the same) 32 LG monitor (32GN63T) with my PC and my Mac M1 Mini. I know, not an M2 but I think we can all agree the M2 will work as well. I also know this isn't the size you stated - I use using a Samsung 27 inch but since, like you, I do a fair amount of LR/PS photo work on the M1 (and it works great) I figured, correctly, that a bigger monitor would be better - that assumes you have the real estate for a larger unit.

I would stick with Apple. You know they will work and be supported.

I use the same 27” LG for the same reasons, and it is outstanding.

Not to be a kiljoy, but comparisons online favor the M1 MacBook Pro. Just sayin'.
I figured if it hasn't arrive yet...

The M2 Air is the one everyone anticipates the most. The M2 Pro is the M1 pro with a new processor. The M2 Air will be all new. That said, most folks will be happy with them all.
Just don’t scrimp on memory and internal storage. It cannot be upgraded later.
I'm thinking KillJoy, but thanks anyway
