This is my first usage of Clear Image Zoom with the RX10.

Florida Mottled Duck preening in early morning shaded area.....

1/400, f4 (wide open), ISO 400, 600mm (equiv.) + 1.7X CIZ = 1020 mm FOV equiv. with a small crop, hand held, SOC sharpening, otherwise PP in Elements 9 and pixel reduction for viewing here.

Hand held at that focal length and that sharp - pretty impressive!

I am currently learning to use the same camera but haven’t gotten to the CIZ section yet. However your post has certainly peaked my interest. Well done!

One of the purposes of this test was to see if the RX10 could compete with my 80D and 400mm 5.6 prime with 1.4X. Extending beyond 600mm was a concern and the only reason I could think of for keeping my Canon APSC stuff.

I have been using Sony for many years now and have used CIZ in all of them but was concerned how it would behave with the RX10 sensor. BTW, the RX10's pixel pitch is equal to having a 145MP on full frame !

Larry, here is a similar shot to compare. I almost shot this with my RX10iv. But I was actually trying to get an Osprey. This was shot with the ISO 640, 600mm f6.3, 1/1000 hand held. Sony a9 with the Sony 200-600mm G. and only minor cropping.
