My friend, Dave, is a pilot and owns this beautiful plane. It’s a Kitfox, licensed as a light sport airplane. This is a fun airplane, has short takeoff and landing capabilities, and even though its rather “snug” inside, it’s surprisingly comfortable. I’ve flown with Dave several times. Flying this plane is more economical than driving the average car, suv or pickup truck. Airspeed averages 100 to 105 mph, burning 4 gallons per hours, for an average of 25 miles per gallon gas mileage! Not bad. I shot this with my iPhone 13 Pro Max at the Wasilla Airport transit parking area.

Cool plane, Greg!
It is, Mike. He let me fly it once (with him in it, of course) but I’m a bit rusty with my flying skills, and and it was a bit squirrelly for me. I think it takes some training and experience to get the feel of this one. Dave is very good with it, though.
That's a cool looking plane but it's a tad too small for me. LOL.

It is snug inside. We’re definitely shoulder to shoulder in there.

A friend of a friend is a stunt flyer, his hobby, he referred to this type of plane as a "tail dragger" , I thought it was an interesting but appropriate term.

That is the common reference to planes with a tail wheel rather than the conventional nose mounted wheel, referred to as “tricycle landing gear.” It takes a bit more skill to maneuver a taildragger on the ground than it does a tricycle gear plane.

Flying is a way of life up your way, isn't it?

Yes, it pretty much is, for a lot of people.
