Hi!
I've got a Sony A7C body, the original FE 4-5.6/28-60 (very sharp, seldom used), also a SEL50F18F, a weird manual 400mm mirror lens (not sharp at all) and my beloved everyday SEL 24-240 which is always attached to my camera because I believe is a nice compromise between flexibility and sharpness.
I shoot mainly landscapes (please see example below) and family gathering (birthdays, so on) and I feel I'm a little short in the wide angle department... so (yeah right, it may be just GAS) I was thinking in getting a Tamron 17-28mm F/2.8 Di III RXD which has good reviews and if fairly inexpensive.
Do somebody use this lens?
What is the real life experience with it?

A friend of mine has one of these lenses & it seems to have excellent quality. Photos are excellent at a local car show.
I use it on my a7iii. Here are two samples. The first an interior at 17mm the second at 28mm. I like the lens, but it is not my most used.
Love it with my Sony A7RIV, A1, A7SIII, Here are just a few of my shots with the Tamron 17-28mm f2.8 Lens and my A7RIV.
1) The Palace of Fine Arts, San Francisco, California, USA
2) Horseshoe Bend and the Colorado River, Page Arizona, USA
3), 4) Lower Antelope Canyon, Navajo Lands, Page , Arizona, USA.
5) Famed Monument Valley, Arizona/Utah border, USA.
6) another from the Palace of Fine Arts, San Francisco, California USA.
It is a wonderful lens for both stills and video. Compact, lightweight, fast and quiet focusing. More than sharp enough for my 61mp A7RIV and 50mp A1.
More than worth the price IMHO for this longtime pro (48 years in the business) . I have owned the best from Nikon and Canon and Leica for over four decades and moved over to Sony in Jan. 2017. From Sony I have owned A6500, A7RII, A7RIII, A7III, A9, and currently own A7RIV, A1, A7SIII.
I currently have 13 E-mount lenses from 10mm to 600mm from Sony, Sigma and Tamron and keep the Tamron 17-28mm f2.8 with me at all times. Yes the Sony 16-35mm f2.8 GM is a bit sharper, but for the much better price of the Tamron, unless you pixel peep, it is more than sharp enough for my professional and personal work..
Cheers

Thank you all for your comments and excellent pictures!
Now the GAS has become itching...
I have the Tamron 45mm 1.8 with internal stabilization. Amazing lens and I get very good images with it if I take my time.
