I have three, but since I got my Sony A7 done, I haven't used the other two. I did the A7 to get into the mirrorless thing, which assures good focus and full frame to boot. It's at 590nm but I have a few filters that fit the lens I'm using, so I go to 720nm and even 830nm on occasion...you can stack on your 590 with filters and not need another body!

I have a crop Sony, an old one. I wasn't using it, so I thought that I might as well use it.

How does it work with the filters, do they block out all the light so that you can't see anything? I was going to try them, but I don't really know how they work.

Are you happy with them?

Was your A7 converted to "Full spectrum" IR? What do you mean of " you can stack on your 590 with filters and not need another body"?
You can only use one IR filter at a time even on a full spectrum converted body!

Thank you, Dan. I have a camera set for 720nm, and that is good for B&W and for the typical magenta trees. I got another one converted to 590nm, and that gives you a much better color range.

590nm. I have one for 720nm, and it is good for B&W and the magenta trees. I was following some people, and I like the 590nm conversion, so I got one.

I think that what he means is that with the full spectrum or 590nm conversion, you can use an IR filter to block out the light below the wavelength that you want.
Like on my 590nm, I can use an 850nm filter to get pure B&W.

What I don't know, and I would be glad to get an answer, is that when you put the new nm filter on, does it block out all the light. I think that a mirrorless camera will let you see the picture even with the new filter, but with a DSLR you will only see it in live view.
