Topaz not syncing with LR

My Topaz Sharpen no longer opens in Lightroom Classic. Instead of showing me the Sharpen screen, it does the sharpening in the back ground and produces a tif file with unknown sharpening parameters. I have no control over the process. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Topaz program, quit and restarted LR, and rebooted the iMac. Any suggestions?

I also have issues similar. I cannot select edit in Topaz Sharpen directly from LR Classic, I have to select edit in PS and when in PS I can then edit in Topaz Sharpen I also have tried re-installing Topaz Sharpen to no avail.

Two thoughts:

1) You can manually create an external editor definition within LR. You just have to know the EXE of the Topaz module to reference in the external editor definition.

2) This is a link to Topaz Lab's demo video. From about the 5-minute mark through 8-minutes, the author shows a workflow of editing the RAW in Topaz, saving to a DNG and importing the DNG back into LR Classic:

Contacting Topaz resulted in them sending me a link to a video which solved my issue! Many thanks to all who responded.

I had a similar issue recently. I contacted Topaz for tech support and scheduled a tech support session. Yesterday, we had the zoom meeting and the tech support guy was extremely competent and helpful. I have four Topaz AI programs and all are now, again, fully functional thru Lightroom and as standalones.

At a high-level, what was the solution and /or root-cause of the issue?

I had to remove an older version of Topaz Sharpen and download a new one following their directions to go to LR Preferences>External Editing>Preset “Topaz Sharpen AI. That was after I went found the older version in Applications and removed Sharpen from the group under “Topaz Labs LLC”

Problem was partly my fault. It started when was unable to get Topaz to open through LR. At some point, I decided that I needed to reinstall. Then, I decided to reinstall all four programs to a different drive. And, I messed that up. Bottom line is that tech support helped cleanup and reinstall.

In short, the initial disconnect required a reinstall. And, I’ve had this happen before. I suspect it has to do with recent LR updates, but don’t know that for sure.
