These photos were taken in the preparation area for the mermaid parade. We needed a permit to photograph there, and a separate one to march in the parade (which we did not have).
I am showing 10 images that have two themes, or portfolios.
The first five have photographers at work or rest. The second five are of the subjects posing. The seventh image, the shocking pink-haired woman on the roof of her van wasn't really posing, but stopped her work for an instant at my request.
