Tamron SP 200-500mm F/5.6 Model 31A Telephoto Zoom Lens with Nikon AIS Mount
It has a it has haze on the first element beneath the front element. The other elements are all fine.

I suggest instead of asking here at UHH, as it would be a guess. Contact Tamron have them give you an estimate.

How old is the lens? Tamron offers VERY long warranties on their lenses.

Contact Tamron as suggested. If that front element has fungus there is a good chance it will need replacement.
Today nothing is "reasonable" and that includes photo gear.

Good and reasonable are oxymoronic.
You pay a fair price for oats and you get good oats...If you don't mind them having been through the horse once, those you can get cheaper.

This model run originated/announced in 1984, but I think several iterations before it was discontinued long ago.

@joecool560 - I just today opened the email estimate from Tamron for fixing a Tamron SP AF70-300mm F/4-5.6 Di VC. It has an auto-focus issue with the drive motor. The service came in at about $60. less than the average condition used gear I shopped before I sent it off. It'll have a six-month warranty when it's returned. You pay 12 bucks to have them estimate the repair, and 12 bucks to get it back after they fix it or you refuse the service but want the lens back. 800-827-8880. They'll give you a ballpark idea of the cost. You have a good understanding of what's, what so, there's that. Peace
