Today we are going to look at different ways to bring attention to an isolated object. I am sure you all have figured out your own way of capturing what you want to be the focal point in your shots...
Here are some ideas that I have on the subject..... I use depth of field alot to blur out everything that I dont want to be the focus. To do this you would adjust your aperture. I find that F4.5 or less will usually do what I want to isolate an object for me....
I also will use zoom to isolate subjects. If I am shooting a pic and think that I just want to show one part of the shot, I will either move in for a closer look, or zoom... So zoom my feet, or zoom my lense....
Sometimes when I take a shot I will focus on one thing and then decide I want to make something else the object I want to feature so I will just refocus on the area that I choose
Or, If I want one thing to be the sole object of my shot, I will set it on a plain background and shoot the shot..
These are a few of my ideas. Now lets hear, and see what you do to isolate an object that you want to be the focus in your shots...
Shallow Depth of Field
First shot of chain
Zoomed in on the above shot
Focused on the Fence
Shot from above focused on the nail
Flower on plain background

I wanted to take the time to express my gratitude to all of you... I was going through the posts from Janices Halloween topic, where you expressed how much we all have been through together over these last months, almost 1 year... We have become friends, and we are sharing life with each other. We have laughed and cried together. We have encouraged and cheered.... You have been by my side to welcome in the youngest member of our family, Alivia, and you are here holding me up as we face losing the oldest member of our family, my dad.... This is the progression of life....we lean on each other during the hard times and celebrate the good times... Thank you for all of your well wishes, prayers and messages... Your love and support means more to me than I could ever possibly express.....(((((((GROUP HUG)))))))))
And a song

Now that I see your shots it makes sense but when I was shooting at 4.5 it sure looked like everything was in focus to me so I scrapped the shot - lol
On my behalf, You're welcome and I won't try to speak for anyone else. As some here would say, You Rock! And so do your pictures... I'll join, (((((((((((group hug))))))))))))
