I didn't fact check them all but I have a feeling that #6 is a typo. The question probably is what is the fastest bird in the world, not largest. Interesting Q&A though.

I would recheck the list and then check it twice more. Some of them are way off! Parrots are way up there in the smartest birds category, for one. Heartbeat rate depends on species for two. #12 Depends on what kind of pea you're talking about. Etc Etc.

The heart rate of some hummingbirds can get to 1260 per minute, but the heart rate on a cold night when the birds are in a torpor state may get well below 100. I have seen hummingbirds walk slightly on a branch. Loons can almost not walk because of the position and angle of their legs - making them really good at swimming. But they are forced to build their nests right at the water's edge - so they have to go inland from the ocean (with its waves and tides) to calm lakeshores to build their nests, which are at risk from the wakes of passing motorboats. There was a great article a few months ago in Smithsonian Magazine about Godwit birds and their amazing migratory patterns. Some species fly from Alaska to New Zealand without stopping because they are able to shut down half of their brain at a time while they fly to let it sleep.

Correct and the largest flying bird is the wandering albatross.

Let's dispense with the guessing...

The fastest bird...

and the largest bird....
