Hi, i just bought a D500 & ordered a Sandisk extreme PRO Cfexpress card. I don`t have reader that works so used the cord that came with the camera to transfer pictures but nothing happens :( i have an older imac which i still run Mojave on, not sure if that`s the reason & just need to order a reader for this card. Any thoughts would be appreciated :)

I would use the software Nikon provides for transferring files.

I agree with Bob. Nikon makes several top-notch free software products. I believe what you need is Nikon Transfer. It allows the user to choose source (card 1, card 2), destination file, and some control over numbering.

Card readers are cheap just go to Walmart or what ever and pickup a new one

Can you see the card as in a separate storage drive? If you can, you should be able to drag & drop or copy/paste.

I agree with Bob and I would check if the finder see the camera

I don’t know Macs but the workaround I used before my reader arrived was to use the in camera copy function to copy the images from the CFExpress card to the SD card and use the SD card reader.

Hello
As you go through the process, does your Mac see the card, or does it show that item? As mentioned in the prior post also using the Nikon software and also just getting a card reader.

Hi Alvin, I haven`t had time to play with the much appreciated suggestions yet. I can say when i connected camera to computer it didn`t do anything (no options). I will check into a card reader :)

Use the Nikon Transfer software. Free on their website.
I tether my camera and use it exclusively.
