In an effort to lighten my load I purchased the Sony RX10IV. Being a Nikon dslr user the Sony presents a learning curve so I purchased a used David Busch book on what I thought was my new camera. Turns out it is on the RX100IV. Does anyone know if there are enough similarities for me to keep it or should I send it back to Amazon and try again I know the RX 100 is a smaller point and shoot. Thanks in advance for any helpful comments
One would think that a manual should be relevant to the specific camera, unless it explicitly covers more than one model.
I myself would return it.
Have you tried obtaining a PDF copy from the Sony website?
Before spending still more money, have you exhausted all the free videos on utube?
I would say return it if you can.

Stare at the book, look to the room ceiling, sigh, utter an expletive (optional), go to the Amazon webpage Orders section, find the order, click on return
I had a similar situation when I purchased a book for my Olympus EM1 MKII, but the book was actually for the MK I. However, there were enough similarities between the two models that the book still had some useful sections. The MKII did have new features not covered by the book/.

There’s a manual and help guide that are free on the Sony website here:

Return the book. It’s not for your camera. I bought a book of his for my Olympus camera and it left out information and had incorrect information. Also the book has lots of information on post processing. I was not happy.
I second the advice to get the Friedman book. He not only explains the features, but also why you would use them. Far and away, the best manuals/books for Sony cameras
