For those headed to Yellowstone Park soon.
Pretty well shut down due to rains and flooding. Can’t even assess damage at this time.
All entrances closed and no power or access to Gardiner at north entrance form either direction.
Bad damage all the way to Red Lodge and Paradise Valley.

Pretty much all of Southern Montana is flooding right now. Hundreds of tourists and campers stranded with no way out. 18 roads or bridges washed out as of 9 am today.
Yes, we’ve been following it. What surprised us was evacuations of southern Red Lodge. Yankee Jim Canyon is blocked off. Gardiner is semi-arid, so the cactus will be well watered! The road is partially ripped up in Gardiner Canyon. Be a bit of time before they can check out bridge damage.
Sorry to be so redundant!
I hope they can use the water downstream somewhere. That would be the only good that could come from this.

Lol, yes! Problem is it flows north to the Missouri River near Williston, North Dakota and then down to the Mississippi River in St. Louis.
Just for giggles, some water in Yellowstone ends up in the Pacific Ocean in Astoria, Oregon via the Columbia River. The same lake, Isa Lake on the Continental Divide near Craig Pass, feeds into two oceans.
