I'm getting a show called Body Cam that's on the ID Channel. Just watched one last night that involved a police shootout with a mentally ill individual who opened fire on them which resulted in several officers shot and one killed. The subject was finally killed by SWAT.
Folks tend to think of those who suffer from PTSD affecting our heroes who are subject to the horrors of war. Law enforcement, firefighters, and EMTs are sufferers too. The difference is that they often do their job for many years rather than a tour of duty. The "Body Camera" programs should make us realize how indebted we are to these men and women who also risk their lives for ours.
