My wife wanted me to spend some time helping with avian netting- Avian Flu is in our area and cases are on the increase. So I found myself in the with the ducks and chickens, with a DSLR in hand.
I though to show some of our chickens as critters with personality. I always like close-up eye shots for this purpose.
Snowball is a true character! One of the six we recently acquired she flies out of the enclosure into the open forest-no protection from predators such as bears, coyotes, raccoons, bob cats, dogs, and so on. She flies up to our back porch and hangs out. She made a wonderful nest- iPhone shots I may post- and left 10 eggs in that nest!
Those drakes are beautiful in the light-their colors change from greens to blues and purples-all metallic-like.
D850, 500pF, varying ISOs as the sky conditions changed from sunny to cloudy in minutes. Some cropping and pp did occur.
Download and enjoy!
Great set Tim. I enjoyed the narrative, too.

Thanx! Some on this forum and elsewhere reject the storytelling aspect of photography. I do not. I believe photos can and do tell stories. Photogs write and control the narrative.
Fun stuff and great shots!!
