Great shots -
When I was there fifty years ago all that was done was the flat top part of arm. There was a picture of what it was going to be like when it was finished. He would be on the top half of a horse. There is some work still to be done. At that time they were having trouble financing the project

Good shots. Still having problems with financing. But it's coming along...slowly.

Nice shots! My wife and I visit every year. Met the artist, Ziolkowski, and his wife Ruth back in 1976. The carving was just an outline drawing with the hole under the arm cut through. They’ve never accepted any federal money and is funded only with donations. Today besides the mountain carving, there is a college on site, restaurant, gift shop and a very large Native American museum. It’s a worthwhile stop and will take a person about a full 8-12 hours to see it all. 2 times a year you can hike to the top for a donation of a couple of cans of food. MT Rushmore is 13 miles away and will take about 2 hours to see it all. For a size comparison, all of MT Rushmore will fit on just the head of CrazyHorse when complete. My advice to anyone visiting the area…see MT Rushmore first, then see CrazyHorse. You won’t be disappointed! Safe travels…..

Not much different than what it was probably 30+ years ago. In my opinion a tourist trap run by the Indians
