Once upon a time in a land far away I got it to work. No actual joy today but after bungling around a while it downloaded my recent images. No idea why.
The Nikon instructions to hook it up are worthless. They leave you hanging with no idea of what to do with camera or iPhone.
Anyone find instructions that work?
My own?
What’s bugging you?
If it is a concern of many, I could write step-by-step instructions.

Yes, many have complained.
I was able to get it to work a few times. But not now. Although somehow it did transfer my latest images to iPhone. But it didn’t give me a way to choose what to download.
Z50 w 50-250. I have 200-500 and 1.4 TC if needed but this guy was happy chomping dandelions.
I got it to work recently after a lot of fails. I'm still not sure if it is using bluetooth or wifi. I don't remember that selecting photos in the camera for transfer does anything.

It worked for me once. I could see thumbnails of all the photos on the card and download selected. Not now.
About 5 years ago when I had a Coolpix it was terrible. I’ve had no trouble with it when connecting my Z7. I only use it to use my phone as a remote. The default for photo transfers is just a 2mp JPEG. You can set it for full size raw files but it’s very slow. If I want to transfer photos from any camera to my phone or iPad I’ll just use a card reader with a lightning or USB-C connector.

Works quite well for me (D500 and Z6ii). Great for transfers to iPad.

I actually messed for well over two hours with mine (Z6ii & Pixel 6), and could not get it to connect. Magic secret for me was to delete existing camera in app, and then add a new one.
It synced and connected (via BT) right away!
Like Doc, I also download to my iPad.
It can be a little fussy to get it started.
Don’t have my camera with me right now, but this is what I do…
I open the camera menu,
Go to the wifi option,
select connect to smart phone option
On my iPad I start SnapBridge,
Go to the download option,
Select each option in the download until it goes into the iPad (wifi menu) to select the wifi network and choose the one the camera has created.
Then return the iPad snapbridge.
Sometimes it’s helpful to wait a few seconds to ensure everything is connected properly.
Sometimes you have to redo this setup on the iPad.
(Check that the camera still has the connection to wifi)
But then it works fine for downloading.
I usually do single photos as I go thru the shots.

That guy looks like one healthy bear!
I have it working on Android without issue. I use it with D500 and D850. It changes units fairly quickly.
When I do change units, I have to be careful that the Auto Link is On. Sometimes it will turn off.
You do have to go through the Settings to identify locations for visibility. Once I figured that out, it all worked well.
I did struggle with the app up to about 2 years ago. After that it seemed pretty solid.

I just download the SD card to my Ipad using the dongle. Works perfect every time with no frustration.

Are you downloading full size raw files? I could see doing a few but when I’m out shooting I usually have several hundred to work with.
I don't use it too often, but when I want to, I just go to youtube and watch a video, then I can relearn what to do.
