The C.W. Morgan is the last wooden Whaler from the 1800's in existence. It was fully restored by the shipwrights at Mystic Seaport Museum. When it sailed, it's journeys lasted until it had filled it's storage capacity with whale oil. Voyages lasted from one year to five years. The seaport museum village is like stepping back in time to the 1830's.

Pretty shot. It's such a beautiful location. Visited many times when I lived on the East Coast.
Excellent! Don't know if they still have a Marina there, but they did when I was first into photography in my late teens. If you were checked in to the Marina, you could walk the streets at night with everything closed and no tourists. Magic, like stepping back in time. And the photo ops!
Nice, and some good memories.
Thanks.
Your posting of the whaler C.W. Morgan in Mystic harbor has triggered some major memories in me. I'm not sure whether to thank you or damn you all to hell. Probably best if I just thank you since you've posted in the Gallery section, then post what you triggered in me elsewhere, separately.
So, Thank You.
I guess whale oil made good lamp oil because it didn’t smoke. Not good for the whales though.

Well done image. My family enjoyed visiting there as I grew up in Connecticut.
Terrific shot
Mystic is a special place
