Davenport Homestead Built 1873..........
William Davenport built this old house in 1873 and folks are still living in it. It is located on Evans Road, East of Nacogdoches Road in far North Bexar County, San Antonio, Texas. There is lots of history in the area, family cemetery and the remains of an old stage depot a short distance to the West of the old house. Tejaswrangler
It's great how you got a great capture of a old house and explained what you knew about the history.

cjkorb, many of my pictures are of historical sites, or other old places in South Texas, and I try to provide some information when possible. Thanks for viewing the picture of the Davenport homestead. Tejaswrangler :)

i ventured out today and personally spoke with the occupants of the house; who are still related to the Davenports. took a lot of photos; almost got rattlesnake bit; quite a good time. very friendly people with a lot of stories. will post some photos when i have them downloaded.
My name is Michael and I am the resident who resides in this home of you ever want to learn more history about stop in sometime...
I remember you coming out and I also remember the rattle snake great times ....
I grew up in this house I remember being a little girl and walking to the Davenport cemetery and just sitting there coloring in books. I miss those days I would give anything to be back home sitting at the kitchen table drinking coffee with my mom and aunt. Its true THERES NO PLACE LIKE HOME
