Young Grizzly up close with the new lens.
This was my first day in Yellowstone. I had my new 600mm lens all ready, on the gimbal head. My first bear, I'm ready. Dang he was fast moving. Had to run down the road with the big lens and tripod to try and stay ahead of him, or her. Trying to get the settings right. Eye track does not work on bears.
I think I will keep the lens even though at one point it was more than I needed. No, I was not out there by myself and when it did come my way there was a vehicle that I was able to get behind, no danger. One downside to the big lens it is heavy and bulky and hard to move in a hurry when necessary.... but yes, I'm keeping it. I just love the up close shots.

Even with all the trouble you were having you got some really nice shots. I really like #2 and the last one!!

great job, if it was me I wuld used a 5000mm len
You have some very good images. The lens is obviously very sharp.
If the 600mm doesn't work size-wise for you, think about the Olympus 300 F4 on their new OM1. The 2x crop factor gets you to 600 for about the physical size of 70-200 f2.8 full frame lens. (haven't recently compared the sizes referenced, so I could be off some. But the m43 system really is very good.

I would consider another brand, but I have too much invested in Canon. Iโm learning to get around with it! I can put my R5 in crop mode, but with 45mp doing a crop in PP works just fine.
A wonderful set. Great work.
Great catches๐๐๐๐
As long as you can handle that lens, have fun with it.
You got a whole bunch of great shots. A long lens is very useful for most of my shooting too.
