Surprising. The police have no obligation to protect anyone. If they want to stand outside a school for an hour, that's their decision. Court after court has ruled that police have to obligation to protect people. If they do nothing, that's not a violation of any laws.

They are there to protect society as a whole, not individuals.

I guess you can’t blame them then for not wanting to engage, unlike the military where you’d be facing a court martial.

Every once in a while, you hear a comment so stupid it makes you cringe.

This is a great reason why the government should not handcuff law abiding citizens by putting restrictions on the second amendment, you should have the right to protect your family and property. These lawmakers have their own body guards with weapons to protect themselves but want us to only rely on them for our protection…

It could be taken either way.
I took it as an attempt at sarcastic humor.

No, as a whole.
Why does everyone keep wanting to break everything down into sub-groups and sub-sub-groups.
Aside from the fact that it's a human trait.

Or again, humor.

Perception....

Police did not k**l George. George k**led George. F******l k**led George it is the number one k**ler of adults between 18 and 45. Proof there were large amounts in his body was in the coroner report. When they pulled him over he was afraid to be found with the drug so he probally ingested it. He knew he was going to die, if you listened to the video, he was calling out to mama and to Resse saying he loved them because he knew he was going to die because of OD, not because the police were handling him. He was saying he could not breath before they put him into the car. According to the CDC "F******l can produce delayed reduced respiratory function (respiratory depression) and respiratory arrest."

I know some people that did two tests for 8 minutes. One where one put a knee on the neck and back where the person could lift his head of the ground which George could do.
Then they did another 8 minute test where the person could not lift his face off the ground. They did not pass out or die.

Police do this all the time to criminals to subdue them since they are no longer allowed to use billy clubs to break their legs.

George k**led himself. He overdosed on drugs, he resisted arrest which normal people, non criminal, non drug induced delirium people do not do. The police on several occasions loosened up on him then he would try to escape. They put him in the car with handcuffs and he fought 2 police officers to get back out of the car. He had super strength like he was on drug (because he was) so they did the right thing.

Could police monitor him better? I watched the video, he was still breathing when he quit talking and passed out.

Life lesson. Don't take F******l. Don't overdoes F******l. Don't take drugs and drive around in a car where police could pull you over. If you OD on drugs, do it in the comfort of your house so police don't try to arrest you. Don't pass counterfeit bills. Don't resist arrest. When police put you in the cop car, don't fight your way out.

So the jury was wrong? OK.

Police have to follow procedure. They will not get fired for following procedure even if that procedure causes more deaths in a shoot out. But they can get fired for not following procedure. So that is what they do. If the commanding officer says we have to wait for backup. That is what you do. If you don't they can fire you so they do what they are told.

I watched the video. The do have a obligation to protect the public, not the individual. Where were the police when B*M were destroying federal buildings and local businesses? Defunding the police seems like the logical answer (sarcasm)
