Anyone know if a Canon EF 1.4 lll teleconverter would be compatible with a Sigma 150-600mm Contemporary lens ?

My Canon EF 1.4X III teleconverter works with my EF mount Sigma 150-600 Sport, so it should work with the EF mount Contemporary also.

Yes, I used that same setup, and recall it was all OK.
Make sure you update the Sigma Firmware to the latest version, as I recall there were some issues before I did this.

I no longer have the 1.4x, so can't check anything else.

The Sigma 1.4X is most probably a better option if you do not already have the Canon 1.4X ....

When I owned the Sigma 100-400 and 150-600 Cont, I bought a Sigma TC-1401. It worked fine but on occasion, I thought it a little soft. Then I sold to 100-400 and bought a used Canon 100-400 ii. And almost immediately, purchased a Canon 1.4 iii TC. Used, the Canon TC was about $315 and I paid about the same for the Sigma, also used. If you plan on holding on to the lens for a long time, and can get the TC-1401 for a good price, go for it. If you have other Canon EF lens that would benefit from a TC, I’d check out the Canon iii version.

My EF 1.4 II works with my Sigma 150-600 Contemporary, so I’d say almost certainly yes.
