Wonder if Nikon is still shipping Z9's? Ordered one 1 Nov 2021 from a well known camera store and I've heard NOTHING> And it's all paid for too!

Like many things these days, there are long waits. Did the camera store tell you that you are "first in line"? You might put your name on lists from other places that do not require you to pay in advance (ie. only pay when it is shipped). For example, Nikon directly, B&H, etc. Someone posted that they just got one from Hunt's, also ordered in Nov.

They have a shortage of cameras and are giving priority to Nikon Professional Services members. I ordered mine November 5 of 2021 and received it in late April, but I am a NPS member, so was given preferential treatment.
My guess is that your's should arrive fairly soon, but demand was much greater than Nikon expected.

I have read that Nikon plans to start shipping the Z 9 early next year.

You might want to contact directly your well-know camera store and see if they think they still owe you a camera ....

I enquired from my local camera store about ordering and their Nikon rep said the waiting time may be up to 6 months.

The "hi-tech" way these days is to use an app like "HotStock". If you sign up and pay a small fee, they alert you when it is in stock at places like Amazon or BestBuy. People have used it to get a Z9 in weeks rather than months. I haven't tried it.
PS. I got mine the old fashioned way, put my name on the list at B&H and they sent it at end of Jan.

If you ordered from B&H, prepare to wait longer, they took the very most pre-orders of any dealer and are required to fulfil NPS orders first. I ordered mine the morning after pre-orders were announced and had it in 6 1/2 weeks. The secret is using a small dealer with few pre-order customers. I am NOT an NPS member.

If you ordered from a well know camera store, they should NEVER have charged you until the camera comes in.
B&H, Adorama, and many many many other "well known camera" stores NEVER charge until they ship.
I am sorry someone else is making interest off your money. If I were you I would no longer do business with that "well known camera store".

I work at Campus Camera in Kent and we are having issues getting product from Nikon and Canon. My buddy ha a Canon 500mm f4 RF lens on order from October and we are still waiting for Canon to ship one to us. As for the Z9 same deal

After months on backorder at one of the large ABC houses, I had the brilliant idea to order from Nikon Store 6 weeks ago. Just arrived yesterday. I am not NPS member.

That's depressing. I didn't think they could charge your card until it was shipped. I made a hotel reservation for October, and it hasn't appeared on my card. I think that's the law.
