I have a number of "albums" created over the years, e.g. vacations, family, friends, bikes, doors, etc. I would like to display them with random sequencing on a monitor/TV. Further, I would like to accomplish this via a WiFi connection if possible. I do not need a large screen but was looking for something in a 24 inch size range. I would like some of your recommendations or advice on how to pick from the many alternatives that are available? Thanks in advance for any help/advice/comments.

Do you live near a Best Buy? Maybe one of the TV/computer gurus there can help, or at least converse about them.

Our TV can see (and connect to?) my laptop via WIFI, but I have not yet investigated what it may or may not be capable of doing via that connection......

The large screen glory is great. I'll leave to others to determine the technology hoops to get all aspects of your request accomplished.

When you find the effort is more than the results delivered, consider a digital frame for your counter-top. Mine runs 24x7 with images on a plug-in SD card. I use LR to keep a collection of landscape-oriented images that I constantly update and periodically export in a time-based order. At now just over 10,000 images, they're virtually random in the sense that no matter when I walk by the frame, something unexpected from 40-years of photography is being displayed in that sequence.

I have my PC/WINDOWS setup to change the "Desktop" every minute. Maybe you could use this:
1. Make a file on 'C' drive (I named mine 'Desktop Photos); transfer desired photos to that file. (I have 5000+)
(I down sized the photos used here, with no issues, to save lots of space)
2. Click Start
3. Click 'Settings'
4. Click on 'Personalization'
5. Click on 'Background'
6. Click on 'Browse' and select the file you made in step 1
7. Change picture every minute
8. I use 'Shuffle' on
9. Choose a fit (I use Fill)

I second the CHG_CANON remarks.
I have three, and I love them because they make me . . .

I have some pics that act as a random screen saver on my computer...seems to work. But not directly to your point.

I have a dedicated picture frame that I can put in an SD card and run...I often forget to update and frankly, am not as organized as Chg to keep it up to date. The use of collections in LR does make this easier. My pic frame does have the ability to email a picture to some odd ball address in china which then, sometimes, uploads the picture to my frame. Im not a fan of that for many reasons, least of which is lack of trust.

One of my adult kids uses Apple TV. He and his wife use a shared folder in Apple Photos which automatically then is displayed as the screen saver on all their connected televisions and iPhones. This is mostly for their child. That seems to be a very good system, but has subscription prices, etc.

Or, you can do, as I religiously do...after vacations I dutifully make a photo book. I take many hours to do it. I pay good money to have it printed. My wife and I look through the book once and put it on a shelf....maybe to look at it again in 5 years.

I like the photobooks. I like too to see some same / some different (unused) images from that trip in the frame too from time to time ...

If the TV has the capability to be a DLNA renderer (almost all “smart” TVs do) then you can cast these from your computer using any of the popular aps, such as Windows media Player over your home WiFi.

Electricity - NIX Advance- 15 inch Digital. All the added technology (motion detect, video, auto off) are pretty much nonsense. I resize and rename my images to 1024x768px with 8x3 files names, letting me fit a ton of images onto the 32GB SD card and avoiding what seems like some common issues in long file names. Letting it run 24x7 also avoids some restart failures in how the auto off function restarts.

Well since the OP wanted to use wifi I take that he doesn't want any wire coming out of the display. I do realize the frame does consume significant power and hard to power it with battery for long.

We use a Roku on our TV. One of the channels (Photo View) allow you to search through the photos and videos you have stored on Google Photos. The best part is you can use it as the source for your TV Screensaver.
