Hi, gmoney, and welcome to UHH and the challenges. There are many places to post on UHH. The "Challenge" thread posters are a friendly bunch and photos aren't judged or criticized (there are other threads for critique of images) The Challenges are topic related and run in 3 or 6 day spans, Sundays are "free" meaning post whatever you wish. I will PM you with the June calendar and link to the challenge for this week.

Nicely done. Are those barnacles on the statue I. The second photo?
No. That is part of the carving. The setting is in Florence, the Piazza della Signoria. The higher statue is a small version of David. The original is down the road from there in Accadamia Gallery.

A head going in circles or....your eye is wide wide open. Tired? The aperture pupil of the "eye" should be smaller and nearly shut???!!! LOL

Dan thank you so much for posting this! I absolutely loved the story - especially because it is a true one. Here in Portland, Maine, our sprawling "rural in an urban setting", cemetery is called "Evergreen Cemetery." My parents are buried in Grand"lawn" cemetery in Detroit, MI - and their last name, my maiden name, was Town (and Emil lived on Town St!) Interesting touch points. The restored monument is grand!
