Here's an old Memorial Day card I found. It's a great reminder that during the Civil War, both sides were American.

Looking at the images, I am very happy that my bayonet was a short one for my M-16. I don't think I would have worn the size that is shown.

Let us remember all who lost their lives in wars not of their making as well.

How old is this card?? I thought we celebrated today as Decoration Day until after WW II when folks started calling it Memorial Day. Either way - Thank You for your sacrifice!

There were many celebrations and many referred to them as "Memorial Day" events in their towns. In 1971, Congress standardized the holiday as "Memorial Day" and changed its observance to the last Monday in May. This official designation is only for USA events. Memorial days are celebrated around the world as a day of remembrance for lost military during wars.
