While looking at one of the water falls in Yellowstone I spotted a chipmunk, one of the biggest I have ever seen and more brightly colored than any other chipmunk I have seen. While taking its portrait another chipmunk appeared and they started sparring and literally going over other several times while making barking sounds. This was too fast and too close for me to capture. Then they separated a few inches apart to look at each other and then all was quiet in chipmunk land. Cute little peanuts though.
Please feel free to make any comments.

Not a chipmunk, it is a golden mantled ground squirrel. It is larger than chipmunks and lacks face stripes. One of my favorite creatures.
Cute little guys nicely captured but known to be carriers of bubonic plague so keep your distance

Well gosh darn. I looked it up and you are correct. No wonder your name is Zooman. Are you a professional animal person? Thank you very much. I love it when I can learn something new each day and today is your day.

I learned long ago not to touch anything like these guys, ground squirrels of all types, due to the plague they can carry. I was always warned about not only bubonic plague but also Pneumonic plague as well from these rodents. No matter, when I shot them they stayed right there with no touching from me or mine.
Thanks for your comment and thanks for taking a look. Much appreciated.
