Just one of those things that I usually study a bit and then move on without recording. But this somehow seemed worth keeping for later review. Needs zooming in if viewed on small screen.

neat photo. for me the discolored corner is a little off putting. I think that if it were all the golden color then it would work better

I agree the shadow detracts from the overall shot but not to the degree that I wouldn't print it and see how it looks.

Interesting eye, ID. Instead of fighting the shadow, you might try incorporating into the image by cropping a bit. I've attached a quick & dirty attempt at that; see what you think.

Thanks for your interest. As to "fighting the shadow", for me the shadow is an element of the design, not a problem to solve. Your suggested design of another way to treat the shadow isnt new to me.

I chose to post the version that openned the thread, but there are other versions, similar to your version, such as the one attached below.
