My friend Chris and I met in the Jazz Stage Band in high school over 50 years ago. He played drums and I played bass guitar. We formed our own group playing cover tunes along with our own original compositions. He and I have remained friends over the past 50 years and even though each of us moved to different parts of the country, we continued to find ways to collaborate musically. Eventually we both relocated and now live within a little over an hour’s drive from each other. These two shots were taken in my home recording studio in Northeast Tennessee last month. Pretty cool to still be making music together after all of these years!

After family and friendship what else is there?
Great photos
A terrific post...enjoyed your story and your professional inhouse studio shots. Thanks for sharing!!
Love the APP STATE shirt.
Great setups of you and your friend, Stavros, the equipment is awesome.
Your studio looks quite well equipped. I recommend you put together some tracks and put them out on Youtube. There's lots of players with some fantastic music out there on Youtube. I spend time in the evening on Youtube watching and listening to those musicians rather than watching the garbage that's streamed on TV.

Playing in a band is the most intensive team sport on the planet. When you're hitting it off and it all comes together it's the ultimate high. My man cave is home to a blues jam on Thursday nights. We turn electrons into raucous noise. Maybe not as intense as an orgasm, but it definitely lasts longer...
Nice set up. Yeah when the jam starts and you feel the pulse and vibration of the instruments coming together, it's an amazing experience!

Nice setup! Do you record just for yourselves, or post on the web?
If you know App State, are you familiar with their music recording program? Some friends of my twins went there. They have a band known as Barefoot Modern, known for an eclectic blend of alternative rock, pop, grunge, country, and indie surprises. They have recorded several albums.
https://www.reverbnation.com/barefootmodernThere are a couple of bass players you might find interesting. Australian Tal Wilkenfeld is known for her work with Jeff Beck, but she has worked with half the greats in rock and jazz over the years, and was one of the last people to play with Prince Rogers Nelson before he died. Most of their work is still in the can. But she has two of her own albums out, and has played on many other recordings and tours.

Kinga Glyk is from Poland. She has played many jazz festivals and is known all over Europe for her funky sound.

Good "stuff" Stavros, I played the drums for 40 years but had to give it away with my spinal injuries...I still get the urge to have a bash though...
