Yesterday we lost electricity, cable (internet), and a good part of our roof. A giant hemlock broke and landed on our roof. There was lots of daylight and rain coming in, so I scrambled to get some tarps put up inside to divert the water either outside or into plastic pails. Within 24 hours, the tree is gone, and we have plywood and a tarp on the roof.
Actually, we were lucky because we didn't get the heavy rain and high winds that were predicted, and our power and cable were back on within 24 hours. Fortunately, we have a generator, so we had lights, water, and refrigeration.
Glad you're all right Jerryc!

Thanks. No one was injured, and now we just have to clean up after all the tree cutting outside and the sheetrock mess inside.

we got plenty of rain and wind here in deleware, I think Sandy's eye went over my house last night
Very sorry to hear of your hurricane damage. My wife had two inches of water flood her basement studio from Hurricane Sandy, but that was nothing compared to the devastation in New York and New Jersey. We feel very fortunate.
