Moose Creek Lodge, Yukon Territory, Canada

In August 2007 I went on my first tour of Alaska. The land package covered a lot of territory in mid-Alaska and some of the Yukon Territory and British Columbia in Canada. One of the interesting stops we made was at the Moose Creek Lodge in the Yukon Territory. It is a welcome respite from the loneliness of the North Klondike Highway, which passes through a lot of pristine wilderness. Moose Creek Lodge is a well-known roadhouse, offering a rustic restaurant and cozy cabins. There is a small Trapper’s Cabin museum and a gift shop with local handicrafts. (Enough advertising, now for some pictures.)

Architect and Longshadow, thanks so much for the thumbs up! I wasn't sure it was OK to post what looks like a commercial--it wasn't my intention to "push" the place, but I found it interesting. It may be useful to someone making a personal trip to the Yukon.

That's what I thought from the first pic.

Great intimate photos of an historical landmark. We visited there several times circa 1962-1964. It doesn't appear to have changed much over the period of 42 years.

Hi, nice to see you! Interesting that you had been there 4 decades prior to my visit. Were they just pit stops, lunch stops, or did you spend the night?

Brings back wonderful memories! I like the set! I remember passing by there, but due to an earlier delay, I was behind schedule for reservations on down that road. Makes me want to go back (like I needed help in that urge, lol).

I wonder how many folks stay there during the year. Thanks for the tour, David!

You're welcome--I like to share. Thanks for coming. I've no idea how many people stay there--my tour didn't (too many people, I guess).

Considering where this lodge is located, it looks inviting!
