I love the pics of Prague. I spent 6 weeks there in the summer of 1989 as an exchange student, based in Prague but used the weekends to travel through out the country. Studied the language in the mornings till noon then had a historian walk tour the city all afternoon each day. Have about 8 hours of super 8 film somewhere of the many sites and concerts. I was part of a group of about 20 Americans right before the Velvet Revolution that took place in the fall of that year.

David,
As usual, great series!

I spent a lot time there back in my telecom days; thanks for the memories. My favorite is #4 of the old Tyn Church.
All the best
Don

In 2012 the secular chorus I sang with toured Europe, and in 2015, my church choir also made a concert tour of Europe -- one of the cities both groups visited was Prague in the Czech Republic. I have previously posted sets of the St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague, so will not repeat that venue in this set. This will be photos of other sights in Prague. First, a little background.

Known as Praha, Prague is the capital of the Czech Republic, and the major economic and cultural center of the country. The historic city center was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992. Among the many landmarks are the Ckarles Bridge (Karlův most), the Vltava River, the castle of Hradčany (Prague Castle), Wenceslas Square, and many churches. It has been called the “city of a hundred spires”.

It is also well known for its culture: composers Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Bedřich Smetana, Antonín Dvořák, and Leoš Janáček were popular figures. Author Franz Kafka’s works are also linked to the city.

And now for some pictures.

Not that I am a critic, but. You forgot to mention the food. We never ask the hotel staff where to eat as they will invariably point out the hotels restaurant. We always ask the doorman where he lunches. Praha has some of the best little places to eat, tucked away in the side streets. My wife and I never realized there were so many ways to cook hog knuckles. BTW great set of photos.
