I find that the display on the back of my camera just isn't large enough anymore. Does anyone have any experience with displays like the "Atomos Ninja V: 5.2" or others? Hunts has this one listed for $400 bucks. Thanks for responding.
Blank space left for doodling.

Not sure why you need a monitor, but would this work as a considerably less costly alternative?

(B&H has this one for $30 today only, but several brands are available at any time in a wide range of pricing. I like this type because they come with the lanyard built in so that when you're done with it you just let it fall to dangle around your neck till needed again.)

That seems kinda pricey for what you're getting. You can use a cell phone as a monitor, although it might not be exactly what you had in mind. As a matter of fact, you can buy a new phone from TracFone for around $50.

I saw an event photographer using something like that, and it seemed like a good idea. I bought one - and returned it. It worked fine, but it just wasn't for me.

There are cheaper ones for just a external viewing monitor. I believe the name brand is FreeSync. Newer makes them also. Check B&H. The Atomos will record video & also record your viewfinder if you want that. You might need to purchase the battery & memory seperate if the price is low. I looked at them & beieve it comes with an C power supply at the low cost.

The Ninja is top notch...I have it.

Shooting macro with it is a breeze compared to body screen.
Video...well...same.
Get the hard drive for it...game changer...especially video.

Expensive...but real difference...

Get the monitor hood as well...
