Evening Gossip at the Toll Gate.
A composite from a group shoot with the Ragged Victorians back in April. Five or six images plus a couple of my own textures. Layer count 36. Your critique is welcomed if you have the time.

I think this is really unique... Love the textures and the overall look... Could you elaborate a little on how you did this. very interesting.
I believe we are back in Merry Ole England again.
Amazing result. I love it! Feels so authentic.

It’s a fairly straightforward composite Bob, the background, which includes the group at the gate, the two ladies exiting to the left and the chimney sweep character was made from two shots. The lady with the red shawl and back to us is an addition, as is the lady in the toll house doorway. The roadway through the gate is added because it’s was all grass and the three fence rails to the right are also added (the post just had the holes for rails). Various adjustment layers, mostly curves, and two grunge-type texture layers - one of these greatly enhances saturation, so that had to be moderated with a hue and saturation adjustment. The texture layers are straight images, one, I think, was concrete and the other a window blind. Hope this is of interest. Many thanks for your comments.

We are indeed Frank. This building is part of Avonscroft open air museum and has been moved from its original location, rebuilt and preserved at the museum.

Charles Dickens would hire you in a moment to illustrate his novels.
